  • Crazy Crazy Day

Well we woke up on Monday hoping to get some press for Matthew to promote the last push for funds needed to pay for Matthew's iLimb. Within the hour we had to turn down film crews and radio shows due to the amazing way the story took off! By the early evening Matthew had been interviewed for TV four times (included LIVE on BBC News!) and at least 8 radio shows. Amazing. I'm deeply sorry to Sky for not being able to join them this morning - we were all absolutely shattered.

The publicity has helped the fund a great deal with donations coming from all over the world (Thank You Huffington Post!) but a lot of the UK news failed to mention the fundraising aspect at all.

Still, today we go global with interest from the US and German media :) Fingers crossed to hit the 5K mark soon!

  • We're Back!

Having made a good start to raise the funds needed, Matthew has spent a week with the team at Touch Bionics and now has a new iLimb Pulse. Matthew has spent a day catching up with sleep and has been exploring the world with his new hand. This has mostly been chopping food, making tea, getting the washing in and helping with the shopping :)

Despite the reporting in the press we still need to raise the rest to enable Matthew to keep the arm! Merceded GP have not paid for the arm - they reached an agreement with Touch Bionics to share some tech which allowed Touch Bionics to reduce the cost.

Thanks to the generosity of family and friends we are almost half way there! We still have some way to go to reach the £10,000 needed and we're hoping that the PR campaign that kicks off next week will give us a big boost.
